11+ practice papers

Build children’s confidence

GL Assessment is the leading provider of 11+ tests for admissions. Our practice papers have been updated to better reflect the layout children will find when they sit the real test. Featuring up-to-date question types as well as answers, and guidance for parents, our practice papers are the best preparation to help build confidence before taking 11+ admissions tests.

Familiarisation papers and practice papers each provide useful support when preparing for an 11+ test. They differ in the following aspects: Firstly, while familiarisation papers are freely available for download, practice papers are only accessible for purchase. Familiarisation papers are in PDF format for home printing, whereas practice papers come in printed booklet format. Each set has its own exclusive content, ensuring a unique testing experience. Familiarisation papers aim for general familiarity with test styles, while practice papers offer comprehensive preparation, including timed test conditions.

Please note the exact timings and the number of questions in your local 11+ test may differ from those in our familiarisation and practice materials.

Our practice papers

We offer practice papers in four specific areas: verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, English and maths, and there are three books (packs) available for each area as well as a bundle of all the books. Each book contains three question papers, answer sheets and guidance for parents. Please note, the different numbers on the books are simply for reference and do not indicate a difference in the level of difficulty between the books.

11+ tests vary from area to area. If you don’t know what type of tests your admissions authority uses, you may find it helpful to check their website or contact them direct.

10 hours of free 11+ familiarisation materials for you

We recommend children familiarise themselves with the multiple-choice layout of the test, content and examples of some types of questions they will face. To give all children the opportunity to experience sample questions across a range of question types in advance of the test, we provide 10 hours of free familiarisation materials. These are particularly useful for verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning tests as children may not have encountered these types of questions before.
